Fresh Produce Giving
At Fresh Produce, we believe it's good corporate citizenship and good karma to give something back to the community, which is why over the last three years Fresh Produce has donated an average of 1.29% of our annual revenues to charity. We've cultivated relationships with many worthy organizations nationally, internationally and in our hometown of Boulder, Colorado and the surrounding areas. The Make-A-Wish Foundation ® (http://www.wish.org)
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Born in 1980 when a group of caring individuals helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the Foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 71 chapters in the U.S. and its territories. Granting more than 12,000 wishes a year and 132,000 wishes in the United States since inception, the Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrated “25 Years Making Wishes Come True” in 2005. For more information about the Make-A-Wish Foundation, visit http://www.wish.org and discover how you can share the power of a wish.

The Women's Wilderness Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the courage, confidence, and leadership skills of girls and women, through the support and challenge of wilderness and community-based experiences. The Institute offers fun, educational, and inspiring courses in backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, fly fishing and yoga. Since 1998, over 2000 women and girls have participated in multi-day outdoor expeditions, building outdoor skills, discovering the power of their own voices, and finding the confidence to make a difference in their world. Thanks to our generous foundation and corporate partners, individual donors, and fees from the Women's program, approximately 60% of girls receive full or partial scholarships, ensuring that girls of all income levels and ethnic backgrounds are included.

Impact on Education (http://www.impactoneducation.org)
Impact on Education focuses on increasing resources for public education, and specifically on teacher excellence, science and technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields; and "at-risk" students. Impact on Education is the only organization, other than the school district itself that serves all 28,000 students in the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). Impact on Education programs help improve student achievement in STEM fields, prevent student drop-out, provide opportunities for students of low-income families, support creative classroom projects and honor selected individuals who have made an impact in our schools. We are enthusiastic advocates for strong societal support of public education.

Giving to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina
The devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina not only took its toll on the nation, but the employees of Fresh Produce as well. In the wake of this disaster, the employees of Fresh Produce formed a Katrina Fund, donating their own money to assist the hurricane victims. Fresh Produce then matched all employee donations, raising more than $16,000 to aid the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts of both the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.
